Introduction
Thank you for using RestInPeace.ng.
This Refund and Returns Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and returns are handled when you use our website, funeral planning tools, paid reports, templates, vendor listings, sponsored services, and related services.
By using or paying for any service on RestInPeace.ng, you agree to this Policy.

General Refund Rule
We will consider refund requests fairly and in line with Nigerian consumer protection principles.
A refund may be approved where:
- You paid for a service but did not receive access
- You were charged twice for the same service
- A payment was successful but the service was not delivered
- We are unable to provide the paid service
- There is a clear technical error from our side
- A refund is required under applicable Nigerian law
Nigeria’s consumer protection framework recognizes fair cancellation and refund rights, subject to reasonable conditions and charges where applicable.
Non-Refundable Services
Because many of our services are digital or service-based, the following may not be refundable once delivered, accessed, downloaded, generated, published, or used:
- Downloaded templates
- Generated PDF reports
- Funeral budget reports
- Contribution reports
- Checklist downloads
- Digital guides
- Vendor listing fees after publication
- Sponsored listing fees after campaign activation
- Featured placement fees after display has started
- Completed planning or support services
This does not affect any legal right you may have where a paid service was not delivered or was defective.
Digital Reports and Downloads
Digital products are considered delivered once they have been generated, downloaded, emailed, displayed, or made available in your account.
Before making payment, please review the service description carefully.
We may correct technical issues or resend access where possible, but we may not issue a refund simply because:
- You changed your mind
- You entered the wrong information
- You no longer need the report
- Your family changed the burial plan
- You downloaded or used the digital item already
Vendor Listings and Paid Promotions
Vendor listing fees, sponsored listings, featured placements, and advertising payments are generally non-refundable once the listing or promotion has gone live.
A refund may be considered if:
- We fail to publish the paid listing
- We wrongly reject a listing after payment
- A technical issue prevents the listing from appearing
- The same payment was made more than once
We may remove, suspend, or reject vendor listings that contain false, illegal, misleading, offensive, or harmful information. In such cases, refunds may not be granted.
Third-Party Vendor Services
RestInPeace.ng may connect users with third-party funeral vendors such as mortuaries, casket sellers, caterers, decorators, hearse providers, photographers, videographers, printers, livestream providers, hotels, security providers, and other funeral service providers.
Payments made directly to vendors are controlled by the vendor’s own refund and cancellation terms.
RestInPeace.ng is not responsible for refunds, returns, failed delivery, poor service, delays, or disputes involving payments made directly to third-party vendors.
Before paying any vendor, users should confirm:
- Full price
- Service details
- Delivery date
- Cancellation terms
- Refund terms
- Deposit terms
- Contact person
- Proof of payment
Physical Goods
RestInPeace.ng may list vendors who sell physical funeral-related goods such as caskets, printed materials, souvenirs, fabrics, decorations, or other items.
Returns or replacements for physical goods are handled by the vendor that supplied the item.
Under Nigerian consumer protection principles, defective or unsafe goods may give consumers certain return or replacement rights.
Users should inspect physical goods as early as possible and report any issues directly to the vendor.
Cancellations
Cancellation rules depend on the service purchased.
You may request cancellation before a paid service is delivered, activated, generated, downloaded, or published.
Once a digital product has been delivered or a vendor promotion has started, cancellation may not lead to a refund.
For vendor bookings, cancellations must be handled directly with the vendor unless RestInPeace.ng received and controlled the payment.
Failed or Duplicate Payments
If your payment fails but money is deducted, or if you are charged more than once, please contact us with proof of payment.
We will investigate and, where confirmed, arrange access to the service or process a refund.
Please provide:
- Full name
- Email address or phone number used
- Payment date
- Amount paid
- Transaction reference
- Screenshot or proof of payment
- Service paid for
Refund Request Period
Refund requests should be made within 7 days of payment.
Requests made after 7 days may still be reviewed, but approval will depend on the nature of the issue, whether the service has been delivered, and applicable law.
Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds will be processed within a reasonable time after review.
The time it takes for the money to reflect may depend on your bank, payment gateway, card provider, or payment method.
Data Protection and Refund Requests
When you request a refund, we may collect and process your name, contact details, payment information, transaction reference, complaint details, and supporting documents.
We process this information to verify your payment, resolve your complaint, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
RestInPeace.ng handles personal data in line with applicable Nigerian data protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023, NDPR principles, and other relevant rules. The NDPC is Nigeria’s data protection authority under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Abuse of Refund Process
We may reject refund requests where we reasonably believe there is fraud, misuse, false information, repeated abuse, or an attempt to obtain services without paying.
We may also suspend access to users or vendors who abuse the refund process.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund and Returns Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
